Why did I start this podcast? Well, after moving from Toronto to Los Angeles in order to expand my digital agency, I felt unexpectedly conflicted. I was ecstatic to be in California, working with new clients, learning to surf, and stepping out of my comfort zone on a daily basis, but I had a nagging feeling of not following the standard path that I was expected to live. You know, the buy-a-house-get-married-have-kids path. I felt a pressure from social media, friends, family--society, in general. And it just wasn't me. I had a house in Toronto and we sold it in order to move. I am married, but I work with my husband. I want kids, but my profession is my current priority. Does all of this make me awful? No. It makes me part of an ever-growing community of women who allow themselves to march to the beat of their own drum. I started paying attention to women who run their own businesses, pursue their passions, and who allow themselves the opportunity to follow what makes them happy, regardless of what that looks like. And I realized that there are so many individuals who are inspiring. I wanted to hear more of what they had to say. What they had experienced. What drives them to keep pushing forward. And how they balance all of that with the rest of their lives. The more I talk with and listen to these awe-inspiring women, the more I realize that it's okay to go against the grain. And while there's always going to be struggle, self-doubt, and challenges, the results of pursuing what you love and what you believe--no matter what that looks like--are going to be incredible. So, I wanted to share these conversations with you. Because we're all in this together. So, Say Hello to women that I find influential and incredible, and I hope you will agree.
